At the Care Hub, we aim to offer you a fulfilling experience with no day being the same which will include a two-course lunch and refreshments throughout the day. A list of the services and activities are listed below:
Rehabilitation
Our Reablement Team will support and encourage clients to retain or regain their daily living skills. This could be following a stay in hospital or a fall at home by assisting people with mobility, exercises to strengthen muscles, walking, stair practice, and transfers. Thereby assisting to reduce the risk of further falls and lessening the need for hospital admissions or increased care packages enabling you to remain living in the community.
Adapted Transport
For people who require to be collected and dropped off a specially adapted minibus with wheelchair access will be available and always staffed by a qualified member of staff. Pick up from 9.00 am and drop off from 3.00 pm for those who require to use this service.
Assisted Showering
Our shower room, which is fitted with safety rails and shower seat is designed to allow people who may no longer be able to use their shower or bath at home. Anyone using the shower room will be assisted by one of our qualified staff.
Please note: you do not have to attend the Care Hub to use the shower room, we will be able to offer this service to anyone who wishes to have a shower with either their own carer or a DDL Care Services Support Worker. This will be a chargeable service and requires to be booked in advance.
Respite/Replacement Care
Main carers will be able to use their Replacement Care/Respite fund to enable their relative/friend to attend the Care Hub. This will give the main carer a full day’s respite from their caring roles, knowing their loved one is in safe hands and well cared for.
Therapy Room
Our Therapy room is a multi-functional area that can be used to deliver health services from a central point including, but not limited to District Nurses, Dietary, Podiatry, Ophthalmologist, and Dentistry services along with other holistic treatments. Beauty treatments such as hand and nail treatments will
also be available.
Sensory Zone
In acknowledgment of the diverse range of needs of the people attending the Care Hub, the sensory room has been designed to provide an alternative to the main area allowing people access to a quiet space to relax and unwind whilst listening to relaxing music.
Activities
Our main area of the care hub will host our daily activities which has an endless list of possibilities including arts and crafts, carpet bowls, games table, tea dances, exercise classes, demonstrations i.e. flower arranging, and of course baking, etc in the activity kitchen. Also included in the main area is a library corner, a computer station for those who wish to address the digital divide, and a space for just sitting and chatting with new and perhaps old friends.
